Welcome to the Cleveland State University eLearning community - where thousands of students are engaged online. Electronic (“e”) learning offers flexible access to courses, classmates and professors. As long as you have access to a computer and the Internet, you can attend class anytime, anywhere.
With more than 500 courses, and a portfolio of undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs, CSU is a leader in online education in northeast Ohio. You’ll find a wide array of choices in the arts and humanities, sciences, engineering, business, education, urban affairs, nursing and many other areas.
Your professors are the same outstanding faculty who teach in traditional classrooms, with the same high quality of instruction. eLearning courses are just as vigorous and challenging as traditional University courses; they are not “easier” simply because they are online.
eLearning courses are offered fully online or in a blended format.
In an ONLINE course, content is delivered via the Blackboard CE course management system. The instructor communicates with students using a variety of interactive tools, including discussions, announcements, email and chat. Online courses do not require face-to-face meetings, but students are expected to make weekly progress online. A computer and access to the internet are required.
A BLENDED course combines required face-to-face class sessions with online interaction. Course content is also delivered via the Blackboard CE. The instructor communicates with students outside of class using interactive tools such as discussions, announcements, email and chat. A computer and access to the internet are required. The instructor or department will set up the face-to-face meeting times.
